Acid Rosewood

Whilst being busy in 2021 working alongside Nail under the name “Champyun Clouds”, Nottingham's Asa presents us with a new direction following on from his 2020 album “Fanks”, which Rough Trade compared to “Beck on a psychedelic journey through the East Midlands".Towards the end of 2020, a close friend of Asa and a loved one by many, Pete Woosh (DiY/Strictly4Groovers/Spirit Wrestlers) sadly passed away and it was here that Asa made the sudden change in direction. Not only sonically, but mentally. The grieving process at the loss of such an inspirational figure and most importantly, a friend, left Asa listening to old DiY mixes for comfort in times which were hard to comprehend such loss. Feeling heavily inspired by what he was hearing, keeping the spirit of Woosh alive was unshakeable. Armed with a somewhat generous redundancy pay off, Asa set out to reinvent himself, whilst keeping in the spirit of DiY, here we have Asa showcasing a new style of acid house backed by the monumental remix of “Ound” by up-and-coming Nottingham producer, Gabe. A new album of new material is in the works, watch this space.
