Now a regular contributor to the Tempa sound, following on from his contributions to the Tempa Allstars series, and his two well received solo 12"s, Alex Coulton steps forward to further showcase his diversity through two different tracks which take influences from House, Techno, Jungle, Dubstep and beyond A-Side 'Ambush' is full on Alex Coulton: Moody atmospheres, sub-bass heavy and delicate percussion: traits which Coulton has become respected for. The restrained intro soon gives way to hypnotic conga drum patterns, maintaining momentum through Coulton's taut soundscapes. 'Direction', with shuffling hats, soft pads and bright melody, is primed more for the dancefloor; the stuttering beats accelerating to 4/4 as the track progresses.
