We head to 1980s Uruguay with Vampi Soul for a marvellously comprehensive overlook of the nation’s then-burgeoning weirdo synth scene. América Invertida paints a wildly inventive picture of a tandem continuum within synth experimentalism. As North America and Europe revelled in dream pop and new wave, the likes of Eduardo Darnauchans and Leo Masliah Y Jorge Cumbo were busily electrifying traditional and pop forms alongside the bossa nova fusions of Mariana Ingold and Hugo Jasa.
