The debut album from the Berlin-based German-Turkish artist, who actually hails from the early 80s synth-punk and minimal wave scene – and those roots are certainly evident; but Güner goes further, venturing into indie rock à la Sonic Youth and even shoegaze/dream pop, whilst also featuring psychedelically meandering sections and songs, alongside a recurring dash of Riot Grrrl. A brilliant mix, a bit like a rollercoaster ride, recorded with a raw sound that suits the album perfectly. Güner Künier sings in English and Turkish.
