Axeman’s Jazz

Originally released in 1984 on Green Records, The Axeman's Jazz is the kind of record that sounds like it barely made it onto tape, and that's exactly its strength. Recorded in a single day, live and unpolished, it captures The Beasts Of Bourbon running on pure instinct, delivering a loose, dangerous sound that feels immediate and slightly out of control. Distorted guitars, crawling rhythms, and a shadowy barroom mood pull blues, punk, and outlaw rock into one rough-edged whole. Dark, raw, and hypnotic, this is underground rock at its most uncompromising.
