Barefoot in Shards is a raw, direct historical document of the early German-language punk movement – accompanied by the eponymous comic book from Ventil Verlag. Featuring 14 tracks from 1979 to 1986, the compilation traces the period in which punk in Germany found its own voice: between a no-future attitude, political protest, and a DIY ethos. Bands like Fehlfarben, Slime, Hans-A-Plast, and SYPH demonstrate the diverse and radical sound of this movement – from edgy post-punk to furious hardcore.
