Barrence Whitfield and The Savages

a specially extended reissue for the 1984 album "barrence whitfield and the savages". originally released on the mamou label, this enhanced edition, co-ordinated by the album's producer (and savage guitarist) peter greenberg, almost doubles the original album's 30 minute playing time. tracks 14 and 15 are out-takes from the original album, while tracks 16-18 are previously unreleased earlier recordings. tracks 19-23 are live recordings. the album's release in 1984 led dj andy kershaw to pronounce it the greatest rock'n'roll record he had ever heard. he brought the band to the uk and robert plant and elvis costello could be seen grooving at gigs.
