Originally released in 1975 as Cookin', this one marked the first in a trilogy of collaborations between the legendary Jamaican saxophonist, The Skatalites member, and frequent session player Tommy McCook and Bunny 'Striker' Lee's much-lauded backing band The Aggrovators. Mixed by pioneering engineer King Tubby and produced by Lee, there's a push and pull between McCook's brass and Tubby's frequently psychedelic mixing. Of course, the riddims are killer, with crucial instrumentalists Carlton and Aston Barrett (The Wailers), Robby Shakespeare, and Ossie Bongo among the players. The album was reissued with a new title and sleeve art in 2010 as Brass Rockers.
