Rafiq Bhatia presents Breaking English, his debut album that defies expectations and showcases a new voice in music. This instrumental masterpiece challenges the idea of communication through words and introduces Bhatia as a talented performer-producer.
In 2012, Bhatia released two highly praised recordings that caught the attention of critics, with The New York Times describing his music as "intrepid, arresting, and stylish." Joining Son Lux in 2014, Bhatia worked alongside producer Ryan Lott to create innovative electronic music using software to manipulate sounds.
Son Lux provided Bhatia with the opportunity to collaborate with renowned artists such as Lorde and Sufjan Stevens, while also allowing him the space to reimagine his creative process. The result of this exploration is Breaking English, a thirty-two-minute journey of musical grandeur that marks the arrival of a bold new talent in the industry.
