never thought we would see this on vinyl! 180 gram and a bonus track to boot. the album was recorded in the rural tranquility of idyllwild, california, in a room with large windows looking out onto the surrounding nature. nabob and rabob gathered their friends to record one of the most unique and mesmerising albums of the year. creating psyched-out folk with a heavy dose of soul, 'brightblack morning light' blurs the edges of consciousness and transports you to another plane. in 2002 palace records was the first to publish their work as rainywood. it was a split vinyl 7" with bonnie prince billy. following their 2nd tour of the south-western us as main support for bonnie prince billy, nabob and raybob began slowly writing songs for their next collaboration, brightblack morning light. the albums recalls early royal trux, ry cooder, can, opal and the stones' quieter moments on 'beggars banquet'. on matador records.
