Blue Cheer were an American rock band established in 1966 in San Francisco, and they are considered by many to be the first heavy metal band.

Junk includes seven previously unreleased cover songs, plus the last ever live performance of ‘Summertime Blues’ with bassist / vocalist Dickie Peterson, the band’s only constant member (who passed in 2009).
