Huey Lewis and The News have always stood for feel good, high energy pop rock songs built on big hooks, sharp musicianship, and an unmistakable voice that defined an era.

With Huey Lewis Collected, Music On Vinyl presents a comprehensive overview of the band's remarkable journey, from their early bar band roots to their rise as one of the most successful American acts of the 1980s.

Born in New York and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Huey Lewis followed an unconventional path, a gifted student and athlete who hitchhiked across America and Europe, teaching himself harmonica along the way. His early years with the band Clover took him to England, where he recorded with top producers and contributed harmonica to classic rock albums before returning home to form the group that would make him a household name.

Huey Lewis and The News emerged from the vibrant Bay Area music scene with a tight, soulful sound shaped by Huey, Sean Hopper, Johnny Colla, Mario Cipollina, Bill Gibson, and later Chris Hayes. Their breakthrough came with the album Picture This in 1982, but it was the blockbuster album Sports that turned them into global superstars. Hit after hit, such as "I Want a New Drug", "The Heart Of Rock & Roll", "If This Is It" dominated the charts and airwaves, ultimately making Sports one of the best selling albums of the decade. Their momentum continued with iconic contributions to the Back to the Future soundtrack, including the chart topping "The Power of Love", followed by the multi platinum success of Fore! and its string of international hits.

Through changing musical landscapes, the band continued to evolve, releasing acclaimed albums, exploring rhythm & blues roots, and maintaining a reputation as one of the most engaging live acts in American music. Huey Lewis Collected includes the global hits "The Power Of Love", "I Want A New Drug", "Hip To Be Square" plus tracks by Clover "Streets Of London" and American Express "Exodisco" and more iconic songs.
