Come Out Fighting Ghengis Smith is the second Roy Harper album from 1968. If Stormcock and Flat Baroque are his finest, Ghengis has all the seeds of what led up to them. Poetic, witty and defiantly uncompromising, this is pure Harper. In a Beautiful Rambling Mess sums it up superbly. The title track has all the wordplay, melody and piss taking that makes Harper one of a kind. Part Lord Buckley, part Keats, plus Bert Jansch's raw bedsit chops in terms of Folk guitar virtuosity.
