Comme à la Radio

Wewantsounds reissues Brigitte Fontaine’s 1970 Saravah landmark Comme à la Radio, recorded with Areski Belkacem, Wadada Leo Smith and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. This deluxe 2LP edition pairs the original album with a second LP of rare bonus material, newly remastered from the original tapes.

LP one restores the original album, while LP two adds 11 bonus tracks: rare non-album singles, English-language takes, alternate versions and previously unreleased instrumentals. Highlights include the elusive English version of Comme à la Radio and an early version of L’été L’été.

A 24-page bilingual booklet includes an introduction by Andy Beta, essays by Wadada Leo Smith, Benoît Mouchart and Benjamin Barouh, plus a recent interview with Brigitte Fontaine and the late Areski Belkacem, complete lyrics, and rare photos by Jean-Pierre Leloir and Philippe Gras.

The reissue arrives alongside companion set Comme à la Radio "On Air", a deluxe 2LP collection of previously unreleased ORTF live recordings and additional studio rarities.
