Format

DjRUM is one of the most revered DJs of his generation: a virtuoso musician and producer a long way from what most people imagine when they see “DJ/producer”. His all-vinyl, three-deck sets are spontaneous, sometimes extreme, and unafraid of stylistic handbrake turns.

His productions are lovingly and meticulously structured, closer at times to post-classical composition than rave tracks. Here, he brings those elements together through four new pieces, plus exclusives from Skee Mask and Clark, using them to map out the mix.

Ambient and breakcore, classical and punk, deep acid and chaotic percussion flow together here. It joins things that should never work with uncanny perfection, then knocks you sideways with a ragged cut or foolish sample. It’s both sides of DjRUM, at once.
