Don't Look Away

Great band local to RTWest, The Goldborns, wth their debut ep ‘Don’t Look Away’ – co produced by Mick Jones (The Clash). This Ladbroke Grove band and production duo have excelled under the wing of Mick jones, who also helped name them after receiving a tip off about the duo from Sex Pistols drummer (and Hollie's dad) Paul Cook. It makes sense that both members were born and raised in Ladbroke Grove - a stimulating backdrop for an eclectic and distinctive mix of sounds and ideas alike. Inspired by ska, dub, rock and hip hop - the Goldborns aren’t afraid to cut across genres with thumping drums, rugged guitars, dub heavy bass and anthemic choruses. The ‘Don’t look away’ ep conveys a reflective portrait of current times in and around their local community, featuring guest spots from renowned West London rapper ‘Lowkey and legendary east London MC ‘OG Rootz’ (formally ‘durrty goodz’) With the ep already recieving airplay on radio one from Toddla T, BBC London with Gary Crowley, BBC6 music from Gideon Coe – and with backing from Punk royalty and a string of secret shows planned - 2019 looks set to be an exciting year for the goldborns… don’t look away.
