Doppelgänger

A four-piece band from Berlin made up of international musicians, they quickly carved out a place in the city’s psychedelic rock scene. Formed in the early 20s, they self-released an EP in 2023, with obscure duplicating records sold at the merch table soon becoming collector’s items.

From there came sets at Desertfest, Void Fest and MW:M, plus support slots with Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Minami Deutsch and The Warlocks. After small tours and shows in Switzerland and the Czech Republic, the rhythm section was restructured and the band recorded a debut album that feels fully realised.

This is psych-rock with real stage mileage behind it: fuzz, echo, reverb, groove and genuinely danceable rhythms. Oriental melodies drift over heavy riffs, while freakouts push beyond genre lines. When Irish frontman Leonard Traynor brings in the flute, the whole thing opens up even further.
