Canadian indie rockers Hot Hot Heat released their second studio album Elevator in 2005. Elevator is something of a departure from Make up the Breakdown. The perfectly formed chunks of spiky disco, synths and new wave have morphed into something more ambient and organic - tracks with varying lengths, different vocal styles and changes that give some tracks more than one catchy chorus. Latin tinges, pianos and organs, hand claps, guitars and danceable bass lines all merge together to form textured, bold and exciting songs.
