“I worked really hard, I just really wanted to get better at what I was doing,” says Payton of the two years since her debut album, YOYOTTA. After stepping away from releasing music, she developed a more considered approach to songwriting, revisiting unfinished material and focusing on the craft of finding the right words.
Created with artist and producer Tom Verberne, eternity combines classic songwriting and affecting lyricism with elements of Americana and indie rock. The album also features the creative involvement of Oscar Lang, who produced YOYOTTA and much of Payton’s early music.
