Tony Reed, known from bands including Pentagram, Mos Generator, Hot Spring Water and Big Scenic Nowhere, first started Constance Tomb at 19. Influenced by the early ’80s goth movement, he preserved boombox and garage recordings on cassette, along with solo covers released under the band’s name.
Now Reed has revived Constance Tomb, blending his love of dark ’80s bands with his heavy metal past. Influences including Southern Cult, Bauhaus, The Cure, Bowie, Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy shape a mix of old and new songs.
With Bo McConaghie on bass and Christian Roney on drums, the band has already played shows in the northwestern United States while developing its sound. The result is a debut album that feels both fresh and seasoned.
