Fear of Music

Talking Heads’ third album, 1979’s Fear of Music, is the bridge between the angular art rock of the band’s early work and the P-Funk-inspired modalism of their early-'80s output.

Fear of Music is more than just a bridge, though. It’s the water under the bridge, the air, the animals, the cities the river flows through, and the heaven on top of it all: “...a place where nothing ever happens.”

This Super Deluxe Edition expands on the original album, featuring rare studio outtakes and alternate versions, as well as two previously unreleased complete shows from the Fear of Music tour, recorded at Berklee Performance Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 24th 1979 and Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey, on November 17th 1979. The CD format includes a Blu-ray disc featuring Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and Hi-Res Stereo mixes, plus rare film footage of the band performing on The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1979.
