Title

originally released on eg records in july 1983, 'fire dances' was the their first studio album with bass player paul raven. the album saw killing joke becoming more melodic and accessible after a brief hiatus while singer jaz coleman and guitarist geordie walker moved to iceland to avoid the apocalypse coleman predicted was on the way. 'fire dances' is a major artistic achievement and an essential post-punk record. it's the perfect transition between the band's earlier, more abrasive recordsand the synth-driven, gothy new wave albums that would follow throughout the '80s, most specifically 1985's hit-filled 'night time'. this remastered cd features 8 bonus recordings including single 'me or you', b-sides 'wilful days', and 'dominator (version)' plus the previously unreleased 'the gathering (original alternate version)' and john peel session recordings of 'dominator', 'frenzy', 'wilful days' and 'harlequin'.
