Free's second album, released in 1969, builds on the groups solid debut effort, as well as the intensive tour work undertaken by the young group. With Paul Kossoff taking flight as a true guitar genius, and the ever present vocal power of Paul Rodgers accenting each 'n' every cut, Free delivered in spades on their self-titled album. The prime movers on offer from Free include I'll Be Creeping driven by Andy Fraser's thumping bass line, Songs of Yesterday, Broad Daylight, the mellow Mouthful of Grass and Woman, which provides a hint at what was in store when Rodgers and drummer Simone Kirke formed Bad Company.
