In 1978 Virgin Records launched a label that soon became widely regarded as the most influential imprint of the Roots Reggae era: Front Line. Its brief but glorious existence is celebrated with a brace of themed 2CD collections, each of which feature a mixture of the most popular and sought-after Reggae recordings released by Virgin the late '70s. 'Front Line Presents Dub' brings together 40 of the heaviest Dub sounds of the era, mixed, produced performed by some of the greatest Jamaican music makers of the period, with five previously unreleased tracks among the 26 recordings that appear on CD for the very first time! Released concurrently with 'Front Line Presents Roots', this long overdue celebration of Dub from the Virgin vaults is not only one of the finest collections of its kind, but also provides the ideal foretaste of the riches in store on this summer's much anticipated Front Line box set! It features The Aggrovators, U Roy, Gregory Isaacs, Johnny Clarke, Tapper Zukie, The Twinkle Brothers, Jah Lloyd etc.
