Fyter was a hard-rock band from Morrilton, Arkansas, known for their self-released private album from 1978. The band consisted of Kevin Compton (bass), Travis Johnson (lead guitar), Mike Newman (vocals and rhythm guitar), and Duane Harlan (drums). Their music blended powerful hard-rock riffs and solos with psychedelic elements, drawing inspiration from artists like Led Zeppelin, Foghat, Hendrix, Stones, Who...

The name Fyter was chosen through a creative process involving numerology and wordplay. They performed at various venues, including high school proms, community dances, and clubs. In 1978, Fyter recorded their self-titled album over three days in Oklahoma City. The album featured tracks like “Where I Stand,” “Monarch,” and “100 Watt Head.” The cover art, depicting the band being “arrested” by local police, was a collaborative effort with the North Little Rock Police Department., only 1,000 copies were pressed, making it a rare collector’s item today.
First ever reissue with remastered sound in original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve
with insert with liner notes by Klemen Breznikar (It’s Psychedelic Baby).
