Get Out Into Yourself

Wishing to tap into the music that had lit up his life on the other side of the Channel (The Kinks, Bowie, The Smiths), but infusing it with a French sensibility he laid out the blueprint for his debut album. The album portrays a character who travels through different cultural landscapes, it's a record that transcends genres and borders at every turn. From pastoral British pop to West Coast surf-rock, from provocative songs with French cinematic overtones to cosmic crooner ballads à la Bowie. The album is a loving tribute to France, a nation that single-handedly reignited Caesar's creative spark.

He decided to record with producer Gaétan Boudy (Zaz, Alex Renart, Emel Mathlouthi), with other guests including Jacqueline Taïeb, Jean Felzine, Jo Wedin and French punk icon Gilles Tandy. Mareva Galanter joins Caesar on the baroque pop track "When I Whisper In Your Ear". Skilfully bridging the gap between British and French pop, Caesar Spencer delivers a treasure trove of songs of classic portent and tailored elegance.
