Originally released in 1984, Guitar Slinger was Johnny Winter's Alligator debut after years of increasingly unfocused, rock-oriented albums. Johnny was thrilled to be on a label that was eager for nothin' but the blues and he delivered the goods, playing scorching guitar and singing like a man possessed, backed by an all-star band of Chicago blues veterans.
