Idris Muhammad is an American jazz drummer and bandleader, known as one of contemporary music's most sampled drummers. His impressive resume boasts nearly 500 recording credits spanning various genres.
He has released 12 studio albums as a bandleader, including the 1976 House Of The Rising Sun. The track "Sudan" from the album is arranged by jazz trumpeter Tom Harrell. House Of The Rising Sun also features guest performances by renowned New York studio musicians such as Joe Beck, Don Grolnick, David Sanborn, Fred Wesley, and Michael Brecker, among others.
