Title

Growing up can be a terrifying and inevitable experience. On I Want to Grow Up, her second album for Hardly Art, Colleen Green reassures us that we don't have to face it alone.

This latest collection of songs follows a newly 30-year-old Green as she navigates the emotional minefield of adulthood. Her belief in true love is challenged by the inner turmoil of modern life, but her faith remains unshaken. Influenced by her heroes, the sentimental SoCal punks The Descendents, Green reflects on aging in songs like "Some People," "Deeper Than Love," and the title track.

The listener is drawn into the sympathetic growing pains of maturation and the accompanying anxieties. Sonically, this album marks a major change for the LA-based songwriter. Collaborating with friends like JEFF the Brotherhood's Jake Orrall and Diarrhea Planet's Casey Weissbuch, Green recorded the album at Sputnik Sound in Nashville, TN over ten days.

I Want to Grow Up is an introspective journey, much like life itself: full of questions, learning, and risks. As a quote from a beloved 90s film suggests, "Understanding is reached only after confrontation." This LP includes a download and is a limited first pressing on clear vinyl with pink/blue swirl.
