Impermeable (2001) is the fourth and final studio album by Carlos Berlanga, son of celebrated Spanish filmmaker Luis García Berlanga. A vital figure in Kaka De Luxe, Alaska Y Los Pegamoides, and Alaska Y Dinarama, Berlanga helped shape the Movida madrileña while pushing Spanish pop into sharper, more elegant territory.

Drawing on French pop, bossa nova, synthpop, and melodic song, Carlos Berlanga brought a rare cosmopolitan touch to everything he made. His work as a painter and illustrator runs through this record too, giving Impermeable a fully realised artistic world beyond the music.

The album features eight originals and two covers: A Vannes by Françoise Hardy, rewritten in Spanish as A Cannes, and Wave by Antonio Carlos Jobim, sung in its original English. The real heart of the record is its originals: beautifully crafted pop songs with memorable melodies and delicate arrangements.
