For two decades, Connecticut’s Lovecraftian sludge / doom trio When The Deadbolt Breaks have carved their name in the underground with crushing riffs, hallucinatory atmospheres and unrelenting heaviness.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary, the band unleash their tenth full-length album, ‘In the Glow of the Vatican Fire’, a haunting descent into the abyss where cosmic horror meets apocalyptic soundscapes.

This is sludge / doom metal at its most immersive: massive walls of distortion, sprawling psychedelic passages and vocals echoing like whispers from beyond. Drawing on the shadowy mythos of HP Lovecraft, the album channel the dread of the unknown into an intense, otherworldly listening experience.
