Infangthief

Seven years after The Dusk Loom, Petrels returns with two companion albums, Infangthief and Outfangthief. Written and recorded in 2022, Infangthief was later reworked after the creation of Outfangthief, with each record reflecting and reshaping the other in sound and theme.

Petrels is the solo project of musician and artist Oliver Barrett. Since 2011’s Haeligewielle, Barrett has toured Europe and shared stages with Jóhann Jóhannsson, Tim Hecker, FIRE!, Nate Young of Wolf Eyes, Trouble Books, Demdike Stare, Nadja, and Hans-Joachim Roedelius of Cluster.

Working from Somerset, UK, Barrett has released numerous albums through Floating Limb and mixed or mastered hundreds more for Keiji Haino, Loren Connors & Alan Licht, Judith Hamann, Incapacitants, Mette Rasmussen & Sofia Jernberg, and Yasunao Tone.
