Kakashi

Yasuaki Shimizu released the Kakashi album in 1982. He is a visionary saxophonist from Japan, known for his work with Mariah on "Utakata Ho Hibi".

Kakashi features 8 suite-like tracks that transport the listener into Yasuaki's colorful sound-world. It is a fusion of outre jazz, new wave, ambient, and dub practices. This album is considered a high water mark in the 80s Japanese underground scene. It has gained cult status in recent years and is a highlight of Yasuaki's solo career.
