3D set compiling 68 tracks from powerful women soul singers recorded between 1968 and 1982 - a period when soul music was experiencing a golden age dominating radio airwaves and charts. 

Featuring Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Candi Staton, Esther Phillips, Baby Washington, Barbara Lynn, Dionne Warwick, Betty Wright, Betty LaVette, Mary Wells, Tina Turner, LaBelle, Pointer Sisters, Rose Royce, Sister Sledge and many more.  

With an emphasis on big voices pouring out big emotions. 

Compiled by a true expert, “The Ambassador Of Soul” David Nathan who co-founded the Soul City record label in 1968, and was a contributing editor to Blues and Soul magazine in the 1970s. He wrote the book The Soulful Divas and in recent times has run the SoulMusic label.  

The selection is drawn from the vaults of Warner-owned labels: ATCO, Atlantic, Calla, Cotillion, Elektra, Reprise, Warner Bros. and more.  

Alongside rarities there are huge hits including Aretha’s ‘Rock Steady’, Chaka Khan’s ‘I’m Every Woman’, Candi Staton’s ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ and Rose Royce’s ‘Wishing On A Star’. There are Northern Soul gems such as Jackie Moore’s ‘Both Ends Against The Middle’, The  Pointer Sisters’ ‘Send Him Back’, Sister Sledge’s ‘Love Don’t You Go Through No Changes On Me’ and Barbara Lynn’s ‘Take Your Love And Run’; Funky dancefloor workouts including Gwen McCrae’s ‘Keep The Fire Burning’ and Dee Dee Bridgewater’s ‘Bad For Me’.  

Most of all, the set features a whole lot of passionate soul and provides a deep dive into the soul genre, picking some of the greatest performances by both legendary and underrated singers.
