Killer

With Killer, her sixth solo album, Mine hits reset in a way that feels both personal and musical. After the trilogy of Klebstoff, Hinüber and Baum, she draws a line under one chapter and steps into something new.

The sound here is leaner and more direct, built from fewer instruments, clearer arrangements and the atmosphere of analogue synthesisers. The songs move through change, self-discovery and the nerve it takes to redefine yourself, with lyrics that are more open, more explicit and more personal.

There is world-weariness in these songs, but also a real sense of momentum. Moments of lightness keep breaking through, and that push and pull gives Killer its shape. Mine may be shedding an old skin, but she sounds more like herself than ever.
