“The concept of this album is to pay homage to where I grew up, reintroducing the sounds of my upbringing in a unique way,” says Blu. On LA, he honours his hometown with a project shaped by producer Sndtrak, whose touch brings fresh life to familiar West Coast textures.

While California rap is often boxed into a single sound, Los Angeles has always held more than that. Blu sits right in that overlap, drawing from classic G-Funk and the soul-rich lyricism of the city’s independent scene with real ease and clarity.

Produced by Oakland’s Sndtrak of 9th Wonder’s Soul Council, LA features Volume 10, Thurz, MED, Iman Omari, Trizz, ICECOLDBISHOP, and more, offering a layered portrait of one of hip-hop’s most vital cities.
