Title

La Prise Electronique, the first album by French electronic artist Fabien Guiraud, is above all a minimalist record. Like his work as a contemporary artist, this album recorded on magnetic tapes, filled with vintage machines and analogical synthesizers is an anthem, a tribute to the library music of the 70s. One can even get a glimpse of an electronic proto-Morricone in its simplest form. Written as a soundtrack, its recurring theme punctuates the unknown history of this record.

Fabien Guiraud began his career as a visual artist in France, where he undertook a umber of experimental electronic performances. During his time he was also one of the original members of Chateau Marmont and is currently a member of Cargo - an electronic group now based in the UK. After moving to London, his music moved towards library music, mainly created with analog synthesizers, and he worked on a number of film soundtracks as a member of Odd Collective.

His approach to creation is to put everyday life into music - with its different emotions and rhythms. He arranges songs as if they were movies - from awkward situations to tragic events, from speculative fiction to emotional romance.
