Le Renoncement

After three albums in English as Memphis Electronic, Didier Balducci steps forward under his own name for his first record in French. Released the same day as his book Le Renoncement, the album feels like a direct extension of his songwriting world.

Balducci, guitarist and songwriter with XYZ, The Dum Dum Boys and NON!, builds these 12 songs from the 12 chapters of the book, including “Love”, “Food”, “Music”, “Drugs”, “Television”, “Work” and “Unemployment”.

Musically, it carries all his familiar signatures: fuzz guitar, analog synths, weird drum machines and space organ. It is a sharp, personal set that connects page and sound without losing the distinctive feel that runs through Didier Balducci’s work.
