In 1958, French composer and arranger Michel Legrand was already a star in his homeland. To record his dream album, he travelled to the United States and brought together the biggest stars of jazz: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Phil Woods, Bill Evans, Ben Webster, Art Farmer, Donald Byrd and many more. The album ‘Legrand Jazz’ presented jazz classics in breathtaking Legrand arrangements, played by the crème de la crème of jazz. For Record Store Day, the album is being reissued as a remastered 140g pressing in its iconic original cover, accompanied by a session photo with Miles Davis and John Coltrane and a text by Legrand.
