Like A Heartbeat

Formed in 2011, The Spook School became one of the most loved queer acts of their generation. Their third and final studio album, Could It Be Different?, was nominated for Scottish Album of the Year in 2018 on Alcopop! Records, earning international acclaim with its hopeful, inclusive spirit and outspoken support for LGBTQ+ rights.

With the political climate growing more hostile and LGBTQ+ rights under threat again around the world, their return feels especially timely. Like A Heartbeat carries a message of resilience, solidarity, and hope, bringing back a band whose voice still matters deeply.

Recorded with Rod Jones of Idlewild at Post Electric Studio in Leith, Edinburgh, Like A Heartbeat is their most cohesive, fully realised, and sonically refined record to date. A vital and welcome return.
