In 1993, The Smashing Pumpkins released Siamese Dream, a meticulous work of ’90s alternative rock that brought real eclecticism to what was being labeled the “Seattle Grunge Sound.”

Before heading out on tour in support of Siamese Dream, The Smashing Pumpkins played a 3-night send-off at The Metro. By that point, the excitement around the album could easily have filled a much larger room, but The Metro was exactly the right place to mark the moment.

It was the venue that helped introduce The Smashing Pumpkins to Chicago, making these shows a fitting celebration for the record that would soon introduce their music to the world.
