Recorded and mixed entirely by band leader Jamie Broughton at his bedroom ‘boudoir’ studio - almost entirely to a Tascam 244 cassette - love songs evokes a weird nostalgic warmth. Pastiching the classic singer/songwriter songbook (and its more modern exponents) - Neil Young, Emmit Rhodes, Alex G et al. - the album originally began as an abandoned concept record, the songs designed as unreleased 70s gems from the mind of alter-ego Arthur Jones.
