This CD compilation has it all - a wide range of music from 1940 to 1962. The oldest recording is the Java Jive by the Ink Spots, a soft vocal sound in a jazzy atmosphere and, last but not least, Java also stands for coffee! Country music in its traditional form is provided by Jerry Irby, Billy Briggs and Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant. Hot rocknroll and rockabilly numbers come from Bill Haley, Glen Glenn, Boots & Randy & Randolph, Ken Jones & Rock n Rollers and many more. There is also a lot to discover from pop to R&B such as famous classics by Peggy Lee (Black Coffee) or Danny Overbea's hit song Forty Cups Of Coffee in two versions that couldn't be more different, by Bill Haley & His Comets and the Les Brown Orchestra with Jo-Anne Greer on vocals. The CD comes with a full-colour 16-page booklet with accompanying texts on the individual songs and artists, written by Marc Mittelacher, as well as many photos and illustrations!
