Title

Hans-Joachim Roedelius is one of the most prolific musicians of the German avant-garde and a key figure in the birth of krautrock, synthesizer pop, and ambient music.

The music featured in Momenti Felici consists of stringent compositions and neoclassical improvisations. Originally released in 1987 on the Virgin label venture, this reissue includes three previously unreleased tracks.

Since the early eighties, Roedelius had more or less dispensed with electronics, focusing increasingly on the grand piano. This period marked a reorientation in musical terms as well as geographically, with Austria becoming his new home.

The joy he found in playing the piano and collaborating with like-minded musicians allowed new impressions and discoveries to flow into his music. Momenti Felici is a prime example of this, showcasing Roedelius' exuberant inventiveness as he effortlessly tickles the ivories or caresses the keys with a more pensive touch.

With saxophonist Alexander Czjzek duetting on some of the pieces, Roedelius blends disciplined compositions with carefree improvisations. While Momenti Felici bears similarities to 'Jardin au Fou', a closer listen reveals the evolution in Roedelius' compositional and playing skills honed over the years.
