When Dutch death / doom metal band Dead End ended in 1993, bass player Alwin Roes and vocalist Misha van de Ven started the band Wish. By recruiting Bart Smits, the first vocalist of the legendary The Gathering (on the debut-album Always), they found a vocalist and keyboard player with the same vision to create intense doomy though catchy pumping rock, with a smudge of 80s alternative bands like Joy Division and The Sisters Of Mercy.
With no guitars but two bass guitars - where Alwin played 6-string with distortion bass - they created their own unique sound (a mix of alternative, doom, gothic and industrial) and recorded their first album, Monochrome, in 1995.
Now Doc Records re-release this fantastic debut- album on CD as a special digibook edition.
