Originally released by CRI in 1974 and reissued on vinyl for the first time by Death Is Not The End, Music by Earle Brown offers a sharp, rewarding snapshot of Earle Brown's early work with graphic notation, open form and magnetic tape. It is a compact but revealing listen for anyone curious about post-war experimental composition.

Times Five (1963) features Govert Jurriaanse, John Floore, Harry Sparnaay, Jaring Walta, Roelof van Driesten, Gerrit Oldeman and Harro Ruijsenaars, with Ton Hartsuiker as piano leader and Earle Brown conducting acoustic instruments alongside pre-recorded magnetic tape.

Octet I (1953) was composed, created and realised entirely by Earle Brown using multi-channel magnetic tape. December 1952 is performed by David Tudor on solo piano. Novara (1962) brings back Jurriaanse, Floore, Sparnaay, Walta, van Driesten, Oldeman, Ruijsenaars and Hartsuiker, conducted by Brown.
