Tommy Barlow grew up in a very musical household in Shelford on a steady diet of traditional folk artists such as Flook and Michael McGoldrick. He later moved to London to attend Guildhall, where he studied electronic music. His music uses field recordings, guitars, strings, samples, his unique voice and sometimes bagpipes.

His influences range from Bon Iver and Steve Reich to Tim Hecker and Fennesz. His self-released, long-deleted 2024 mixtape Mustard Seeds offered a window into his process and led to Tommy becoming a regular at venues including The George Tavern, Shacklewell Arms and Spanners, before recently signing with Young. He has played live with Chanel Beads, By Storm and Quade (AD93). The mixtape comes with the exclusive track Winning Isn’t Likely.
