The Shires returned with their second album, My Universe, released on 7 October 2016. It builds on the duo’s warm, easy chemistry and sharp songwriting, with the kind of big-hearted country-pop that feels made for singing along together.
Opening track Beats To Your Rhythm is heartfelt and instantly catchy, driven by handclaps, stomping drums, a bright chorus and a rousing backing vocal hook. Throughout the record, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes trade lead vocals and lock into the beautifully natural harmonies that have become the band’s trademark.
