Nkrumah "Jah" Thomas is a reggae deejay and record producer who first gained recognition in the 1970s. He later established his own Midnight Rock and Nura labels.

The rhythm tracks for his music were recorded at Channel One Studio and mixed at King Tubby Studio by Scientist. The backing band for Album Name is The Roots Radics, featuring Radigon on drums, Errol Flaba Holt on bass, Winston Wright on organ, Bingy Bunny on lead guitar and rhythm guitar, Gladstone Anderson on piano, Sky Juice Blake on percussion, Headley Bennett on saxophone, Val Bennett on trombone, and Bobby Ellis on trumpet. Sister Jackie provided backing vocals for the album.
