No Other is an absolutely incredible record, and the album that Clark himself thought of as his masterpiece. Despite being a critical and commercial failure at the time of its release in 1974, the years have been kind to No Other and it is now thought of as a classic solo album from one of the founding members of the Byrds. Written in the quiet sobriety of his Mendocino family home, yet recorded in the cocaine excess of Hollywood, No Other is a perfect blending of those two poles. A stunning and important folk-rock record.
